Web Developer

The role.

As a Web Developer at Creative Purpose, you’ll be responsible for building bespoke websites that don’t just look great — they’re designed to deliver results.

You’ll work closely with our design, digital, and strategy teams to turn concepts into functional, high-performing websites that support lead generation and showcase our clients’ brands online.

We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating fast, responsive, conversion-focused sites. With a variety of projects across different sectors, no two days will be the same — and there’s plenty of room to grow.

This role is open to full-time team members based at our Guildford office, as well as freelancers and remote applicants — we care more about your talent than your postcode.

Responsibilities.

Website Development:
Build custom, responsive websites using modern development practices that align with client goals and brand identity.

Collaboration:
Work closely with designers, strategists, and digital marketers to bring creative ideas to life and ensure seamless performance.

Performance & UX:
Ensure websites are fast, accessible, SEO-friendly, and secure.

Problem Solving:
Debug and resolve issues efficiently while maintaining clean, scalable code.

Learning & Innovation:
Stay up to date with the latest web technologies and trends — and bring fresh thinking to how we approach development.

What we're looking for.

Experience:
At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing bespoke websites, ideally in an agency or freelance setting.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress — including experience building custom themes and using page builders like Elementor. Familiarity with PHP and SQL is also important.

Conversion Focus:
An understanding of user experience, accessibility, and how to build websites that support marketing and lead generation goals.

Problem Solving:
Able to troubleshoot and adapt quickly to changing project needs.

Team Player:
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working across teams.

Growth Mindset:
Always keen to learn, experiment, and improve your craft.
